watchdog ICSTIS has published a set of new regulations for TV Quiz shows, in an attempt to
restore viewer confidence. These measures will come into effect on Wednesday 2nd May 2007.
Crosby announced today that its Television Audience Participation System (TAPS) has already
been upgraded in accordance with the new ICSTIS standards, and now enables TV companies to
automatically generate and display real–time information and statistics relating to a
caller's chances of getting through to any stage of a competition.
Broadcasting companies have recently come under intense scrutiny with regard to their use of
premium rate phone lines on some of their most popular programmes, causing the integrity of
current audience participation systems to be brought into question.
A high-profile investigation by phone watchdog ICSTIS into the practices of a number of

votes, callers being charged for call completion after lines have been closed, and even
instances of viewers being urged to enter competitions after the winners had already been
decided.
Liverpool based communications firm Crosby Communications has today announced record annual
profits for 2006.
The results reflect a lucrative fourth quarter, which saw the company's earnings rise by 32%.
