As part of our extensive infrastructure, Crosby has many features
available from its Interactive Voice Response platform (IVR). Below are
just some of the features available.
This is a technical document aimed at people with a
technical understanding of voice platforms.
Remote Update Facility
This is a remote access service that is accessed by using a PIN number.
This service comes free with most applications, using your phone from any
location around the world on a local rate telephone number you can perform
the following very easily:
- Change the greeting or message(s) inside your
application that is played to your callers as often as you like.
- Check your messages if your application supports
this (see our Voice Mail Services below).
- Change your pin number to one of your choice.
- Produce statistics over the phone, the last 30 days, last 7 days
and today are all available which are read out real time.
- Live free help, if you need help at anytime, just press zero from
any point to be transferred to an operator who can assist you.
- Control anything in your application from this service, for example
close competition lines by pressing a key on your phone, send out an SMS
mail shot etc or marketing list.
Full-Featured Services for Content Providers
Content supplied by you can also be easily administered by yourself
in many ways, either uploading by an ISDN line or FTP'ing your recording
to our website. Ideal if you want to change a message that is played to
your callers at any time and want better recording quality. Live services
can also be included in any application. Recordings can be played depending on
time of day, caller ID or even geographical location. You can supply a set
of recordings that can be played in sequential order, random or based on
an external input that you provide. Ideal for advertisements, multiple
languages and hold messages.
Message Transcription
We can transcribe messages that are recorded on your application.
Messages are listened to by our Message centre and can be presented to
you in many database forms such as: Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Oracle or
simply a comma delimited text file. Typically we take name, address, phone
number and order number or whatever item you need from the caller. We can
customise this to your needs if required. See Message Transcription.
Voice Mail Services
The most basic of our applications contain voicemail. Voicemail is easy to
use and cost effective however the Crosby IVR has a lot of advanced features
that can help you in many ways. Most are easy to use and can be done over
the phone using a touch tone telephone with our Remote Update Facility:
- Listen to the time and date of each message in any order you set,
for example you might want to hear the oldest first or vice versa.
- Listen to the caller id, this is the telephone number of the person
who left the message, most useful if you cannot accurately hear what the callers
are saying.
- Return the call, once you have listened to a message; simply press
the hash key to return the call without even knowing the person's phone
number.
- Transfer left messages to other Crosby voicemail boxes, ideal for
telemarketing companies to pass possible prospects/leads from salesperson
to salesperson.
- Allow SMS integration with your voice box, this can send an SMS to
your mobile phone which can also contain the caller ID (the number of the
person who left the message) so you don't have to call in and collect your
messages if you recognise the number.
Out-bound Calling
We can place an outbound call which can be used anywhere inside your
application from data captured during a call or from a database we
host/connection to your own database server. Out-bound calls can be
pre-fixed with outgoing CLI's , this can be based
on any internal/external influence. Out-bound calls are billed to your
account and are paid monthly, if required we can call through a calling
card platform of your choice to access another office/country of your choice
or from a database we host/connection to your own database server.
Out-bound calling can also be placed on IP. Voice over IP allows voice
calls to be made over an IP connection, for example the Internet.
We could connect calls from this country (UK) to another country using
the Internet. This would save you money with long distance calls and also
give you more features. Callers would be unaware that calls are being placed
over the Internet or other source, as the quality is the same.
Chat And Telephone Conferencing
Allows multiple callers to directly access a telephone conference
using a new or existing application. Up to 566 participants can access
the system at any one time. Conferences can be controlled by the
chairperson's telephone, using our interactive website or using an
on-line Crosby operator. Crosby Conferencing is packed with many
features that can greatly improve your day-to-day business:
- Mute callers at the touch of a button.
- Record Conferences at the touch of a button, start and stop etc.
- Play pre-set records at pre-set times into your conference.
- Call out to other conferences anywhere in the world connecting them both together as one without extra charges.
- Mute everyone but the speakers at anytime.
- Play background music while you wait for the speakers to join the conference.

Credit And Debit Card Processing
Real time processing of credit and debit cards that can be built into
any application. Details captured during call time are passed to our card
server which contacts your bank to verify the card, if ok then we can proceed to
another step where the caller could purchase an item, pay outstanding
amounts on their account or buy on-line content for example
adult services/horse and share dealing tips all from one call. See our

Send And Receive Faxes
A very basic facility that can be built into any part of your application.
Sending or receiving faxes can be used to get information to callers which is
ideal for businesses that need to allow their information to be accessed 24hrs,
a day especially for those businesses without internet access.
Inbound faxes can be routed to specific e-mail addresses /
forward fax numbers, etc. if required. See this section's Fax Integration or

Web Services
Web Pages can be sequenced with the IVR through a shared database
(i.e. e-commerce, bill payment, account information), just see our
